The Millar’s

We (Jan & Frank) have been married for 25 years and we have three ‘Millar’s’ Carl 23, Laura 20 & Jodie 19. We have lived in a beautiful market town in Oxfordshire for the past 27 years. Like most parents we are very proud of our children and could not want for anymore from them. We sit down at least three times a week and have a meal and find out what is going on in each other’s lives.

Our hometown is one hour by train or car (if you leave at the right time) from London, as well as the beautiful countryside on our doorstep, so we have the best of both worlds. I love the hustle and bustle of London, with lights, noise and the cosmopolitan feel but also like driving through our high street on a Sunday at 11:30pm and not seeing a single person.

Having dabbled in the IT industry in the late 80’s, 90s and beginning of the noughties, this is where my ‘geek’ factor comes from. I have registered a number of domain names, which one day will make me a ‘millionaire!’ My son Carl converted to a ‘Mac’ a few years ago and after seeing the applications work effortlessly together, I was not far behind him. Both my daughters are now Mac users along with three iPhones, Apple TV and Mobileme, I think you could say we are a little bit of a ‘Apple Geek’ family now.

Outside of the technology/photography circle there is no better way to spend an evening or even lunchtime than at an Indian restaurant. I am proud to say wherever I have been in the country / world, the first thing I ‘Google’ (back to technology again) is ‘where is the local Indian restaurant’ Madras is the hottest I can take, I ordered a Vindaloo back in the 90’s once and I have never ordered one since !

I am not your usual sporting football or rugby type of guy but love Snooker. Every year I go to Sheffield for a long weekend to watch the World Championship and over the years have seen most players live. I play the game too, so appreciate their skill factor even more.

I think that will do for now.
