Its Christmas (well nearly)

Posted in News on December 12, 2009 by frankmillar

Finally the Millar family are getting into the Christmas spirit. The decorations have been brought down from the loft and the house has been decorated along with the tree. We are a very minimal family when it comes to any kind of decoration and don’t do ‘clutter’. We have very few ornaments or pictures or things in general hanging on the walls in the house. Another weekend

Posted in News on December 1, 2009 by frankmillar

Saturday was not very productive with both of us having eaten some bad food the night before, which gave us a bad headache. (yeh right) We did promise Jodie we would take her shopping, so late Saturday afternoon we drove into Oxford. Now if you don’t know I think Oxford must be one of the most expensive cities to park in. Going to plan…well sort of

Posted in News on November 10, 2009 by frankmillar

Monday was a good day with the new plan falling into place. The morning was spent in the local coffee shop ‘The Well Cafe’ in the town. Free wi-fi and good coffee with a small amount of background noise and just enough distraction to stop the process becoming to boring. I spent around two hours in the cafe, and got a good amount of work done, including applying for some opportunities and just tweaking the CV to be that little bit more presentable, so gave myself a pat on the back for that. Routine is paramount

Posted in News on November 8, 2009 by frankmillar

So now with a lot of time on my hands it would be very easy to just drift from day to day. That is why it is critical I get into some sort of routine. You can only spend so much time a day looking for a job, and as long as you stick to the fact that this is main objective of the day, then all will be ok. So the plan is to devote 3 hours a day, in the morning to this main task. Continue reading

The end…and the beginning

Posted in News on November 6, 2009 by frankmillar

So today was the day that I had my redundancy confirmed and I am now officially unemployed. For the first time since leaving school a long time ago, I have no job. Right thats enough negativity…..onwards and upwards. Job hunting now needs to pick up pace and I am confident this is the start of much bigger and better things. May be this is the kick up the ass I needed. Right lets get on with it.

Well that went quick

Posted in News on November 1, 2009 by frankmillar

Well that weekend went quick. Saturday was a bit of a non event day really considering what was going on in our lives. Most of the day was spent chilling, and I went out and took some pictures. I think we were just trying to act normal as if everything was OK. Sunday was slightly different with the morning spent with Jan and myself trawling the internet for job sites. Continue reading

Friday 30th October 15:55

Posted in News on October 30, 2009 by frankmillar

Today was not a good day as it brought bad new in the way of redundancies. I was called into the office just 5 minute’s before home time and given the shocking news that my job may be at risk. An accompanying letter explained that I should attend a meeting on Wednesday 4th Nov and another on Friday 6th Nov. Continue reading

Posted in News on October 30, 2009 by frankmillar

This week has shot by so quick its unbelievable. Being a twitter user, Friday is the day when you recommend other people to follow other people, if you know what I mean. This like put a definite stamp on Fridays and just highlights how quick the week has gone. Continue reading

Good day

Posted in News on October 22, 2009 by frankmillar

I had a meeting in London first thing, well i say first thing it was 10am. This meant I didn’t have to leave home until 8:30 instead of 8am. I still managed to get there early so popped into MacD’s for a coffee. Well their coffee is the most disgusting coffee in the world, but it passed some time and gave me a good 45 minutes to tweet which was good. The meeting lasted about hour n half and was very successful. It was then back to the office for the afternoon. Tonight is being spent watching Digg Nation via our Apple TV, with my Mac on my lap of course.
